TelePro is a terminal emulation program with a powerful command script language specifically designed for use with the Meditech system. The script language allows programmers to easily write batch programs that interact with a host system entirely without
operator intervention.
The batch command language provides the following features and abilities:
* TelePro has the ability to send complex sequences of keystrokes.
* The speed with which keystrokes are transmitted to the host is adjustable.
* Error detection with user programmable error handling routines are available.
* Synchronization between TelePro and host systems is possible.
* Decision and branching structures are available.
* Tasks can be scheduled to run only on specified days of the week or month.
* Execution of certain tasks can be based on host system response.
* The programmer has the ability to call sub-routines.
* TelePro can simultaneously maintain ASCII, TEXT, and printer log files.
* TelePro can SHELL to DOS and perform DOS activities during a batch.
* Switching between multiple communications ports is supported.
* A pseudo DO-UNTIL structure is available.
* A merge file option similar to mail merge lets you automate data entry.
* Character strings may be read from the screen and stored for later use.
* The program may be scheduled to begin execution at a certain time.
* TelePro can perform math and character manipulation on stored data fields.
The terminal emulator provides the following features:
* Rough emulation of Data General 5520 MT, Esprit 105c, and TTY terminals.
* Ability to toggle both ASCII and TEXT log files on and off during a session.
* On screen status bar shows log status and communication port settings.
* Shell to DOS is available to allow DOS commands during a session.
* A keystroke recorder function allows quick creation of a script batch.
* A large 16K incoming character buffer is provided.
* Advanced batch creation tools are available.
* Mouse support for pull-down menus and batch creation.
